This is a little study painting on a 30 x 30cm canvas.
I’d been looking at the exquisite flower work of Mary Delaney and became lost in her detail and paper collage. Born in 1700, Mary made remarkable combinations of art and science in floral studies.
Inspired by her dark backgrounds, I made this little study sketch of a Daisy.
This is painted in acrylic and is hand signed, yearly dated and titled on the reverse of the work.
