A total success. Our first Artists, Makers and Creatives Day.

Last Friday, 14 of us gathered for the first of my Artists, Makers, and Creatives Day. The Google Reviews are humbling. Let me take you through the day.

After nearly 3 decades in this beautiful industry, I often receive emails and dm’s from other artists asking for thoughts and advice. I LOVE to get them and always reply. I find similarities around the questions, so I thought I would choose the 3-most-asked and run an in-person workshop in my home for some artist-to-artist support and learning.

It was a most life-affirming event.

Coming together at 11am for four hours (until 3pm) we talked, laughed, giggled, and learned visually. The interactive exercises I chose to share were those that I use myself when I become a bit lost.

Here are the subjects we worked on.

  • SELF-PROFILING: understanding what sort of artist you are (today, of course, it changes)

  • ART EVENTS, SHOWS & EXHIBITIONS: doing so without breaking the bank and overworking. Making in-person events, fun, light and very, very doable for everyone.

  • IDENTIFYING OUR FUTURE CLIENTS AND BUYERS. Always a stumbling block but I have some ace exercises for this which are hugely enlightening.

  • SUBTLE MARKETING FOR ARTISTS. How we can show up for our clients in beautiful, unexpected, and sustainable ways that bring joy - for them, for you personally, and of course, your bottom line.

We rounded off with chats around Social Media. Choosing the two (three maximum) places that you feel most comfortable.

Fuelled along with two homemade cakes, lashings of tea, coffee, and iced water (it was a very hot day) we motored through our time together.

I LOVED it, and most importantly, so did my attendees.

Much love, Sam

Ps. I am planning more of these workshops, in my studio, on the road, and online. If you would like to join us and be the first to hear of new events, register your interest here and I’ll be in touch soon
