'Daffodils'. Large Canvas Painting

Daffodils symbolise: Spring, new beginnings and rebirth.

When Spring rolls around I marvel at the colours around me. This painting of Daffodils is the very first of them all.

Daffodils are engrained in my mind to say that the days will be getting longer and mornings brighter soon. I adore them.

This painting is my first go at painting them large scale. It’s a big work at 100cm x 100cm on a deep box canvas of 4cm. Working from dark to light in a layering fashion, it holds lots of gestural marks where you can see I have enjoyed every moment of painting it.

‘Daffodils’ is made to remind us throughout the year that Spring will indeed spring - and just when we need it.
