'Coral Charm Peonies'. Large Original Painting

Pink Peonies symbolise: prosperity, good luck, love and honour.

Welcome to my painting of ‘Coral Charm Peonies’. Grown locally to me, arranged and delivered by a great friend of mine, Emma Powell who is a magical florist.

So, Emma delivered these to me on a Friday evening, just after I had closed my studio for the day.

Feasting eyes on these STUNNING flowers, I simply had to retrace my steps back up to my studio, and dig out my brushes, and begin again! I could not wait to paint them, literally. When painted they were tightly closed and the colour of the flowers was intense - dramatic and I loved them.

Gosh, they were stunning. Sadly I don’t have any photographs of them closed up as you see here in the painting, but as they opened, I took the below images, even snaffling one for a dinner we had with friends - they were much remarked upon.

This painting is full of brush marks and movement, I loved making it.

It is 100 x 100cm on a deep box canvas, and I’m going to have a hard time separating with it!
